4760 Private T. Whelan 1st Battalion. Died of Enteric 24 April 1900 and buried in Colenso Old Town Cemetery.

5353 Private Michael Dalton 2nd Battalion. Served 16 years with the regiment. Resided at Henrietta Street, Dublin and died in 1921. Buried Glasnevin Cemetery.

6143 Private B. Mulvey 4th Battalion. Including Special Reserve Long Service Good Conduct Medal. One of just twelve awarded to the battalion.

Lieutenant Andrew Winstanley Newton 2nd Battalion. Born in Dublin in 1879, commissioned May 1900 and resigned his commission in 1908. Played rugby for England.

501 Sergeant J. Hamilton 2nd Battalion. Severely wounded at the Battle of Colenso. With unusual George VI Meritorious Service Medal named to the Royal Dublin Fusiliers

5441 Private P. Carroll 1st Battalion. An unusual double issue QSA with all of the same scarce clasps awarded to Patrick D’Arcy (above) and also ‘Modder River’ which is the only example of this clasp issued to the regiment.
